I've known Greg for ages. He was one of the first skaters I ever met. I think the day we met he learnt 5-0 backside bigspins out. I couldn't even ollie at the time. He offerred to give me copy of PJ Ladd's Wonderful Horrible Life. I got that copy and although my VHS player no longer works I still have it! How's that for hoarding!

The event was held at the Langsford manor. A brave move in my mind, as skateboarders are generally rowdy drunks and the majority of guests were 4 wheel bandits.

I showed up fashionably late (about an hour into proceedings) and things were already getting heavy. There was a rubber penis/ dildo contraption being passed around and paraded with gay abandon (in some cases litteraly). It was entertaining.

Angus and Matt. Fast forward 20 years and you'll be at a West Beach Skatepark old crew gathering, one of these lads will have heaps of tattoos and they'll be several beers deep. Damn I wish I skated West Beach more!

The footy was being shown. It was Carlton vs. Brisbane in the 2nd elimination final. By the end of it everyone was losing their head. I was secretly happy Brisbane won.

Ever since acquiring this lovely new hair do Andy's been on a steady mission to clean himself up. Nice jacket buddy, and the little mo' is going down a treat!

He is still prone to moments in which his former long haired and neck bearded self shines through. In his defence he was drunk.

Did you knoe Greg's engaged? Well you do now. This is the lovely ring he bought his fiancee Beth. If I were a good blogger I would have asked her to show it off near her face. It would have made for a better photo.

Then the speeches. They were great!

L-R: Greg's sister Amy, Beth, his mum Denise and dad Ian with some ring ins in the back. They're not important in this circumstance, IT'S A FAMILY MOMENT!!!

There may have been a mid speech shuffle on Greg's part.

Greg's friend Carter was over from Melbourne. Apparently he'd been drinking since 8am. Unsuprisingly he was passed out on the couch well before the speeches. Then someone drew on him.

I boosted off to town soon after to change things up and go to Electric Circus, the pill popping/ electro headquarters of the Adelaide soical scene. I wasn't the only person who strayed from the normal hangouts of The Exeter, Ed Castle and Supermild

In fact, a high percentage of the usual suspects were there. Here's Brett and Raoul taking a quick break from cutting a rug to pose for this classic buddies shot.

Here are a couple other mates. Fim and Adam in the foreground with Yama (better known as GLOVES in the dance scene) DJing in the background. He was the reason we ventured from our 'alternative/ hipster/ emo/ 'too cool" ' hangouts. It was worth it too. We all danced a storm (I don't think I sat down the entire time I was dancing that much).

Most of the crowd seemed pretty into too. It's funny being around the sorts I usually giggle at or don't think twice of when out in the town (I mean giggle in a 'Wow that girl's dress is such a vibrant pink. She'd definately have a Medusa effect where she's going' sort of way, not a 'that girl is so lame' one).

After Yama finished his blistering set, he, Brett and myself went upstairs to Limbo for a bit. I'm not sure when the others left, but first hand accounts of their actions feature a lot of bar hopping and crashing parties.

I wandered off on my own for a while in an attempt to keep the party going at Supermild. I soon gave up however and whilst stumbling down the apparently dangerous Hindley Street (I got heckled a bit and asked if I wanted to fight) I bumped into Brett and Yama outside a pizza place. They took me under their wing and we went to the church, where we all retired to the land of nod and encountered Mr. Sandman. Amazing night!
