people pay attention to me... i don't know why

This is somewhat of a special post. I say that because it is about Andrew's new exhibition 'Graceful Exits', which is showing at the A Avignon antiques store for the next couple of weeks. A photography exhibition in an antiques store? Special I know. The space is amazing and complete with many expensive items and a very nice floor. Here's my attempt to do the great event via words and photos (most of which were taken by George as I was manning the zine table all night).

I arrived at the space a bit early with Cameron, who's back in town for an unidisclosed length of time. Andrew gave me a little debrief in regards to what i'd be doing all night. It seemed pretty simple and I was more than happy to help. I'm sure I do a lot of bad things unintentionally so I figure I should help out as much as possible to counter any acts of wickedness.

Llewelyn and Luke were in attendance. So stoked!

This is me manning my table. I'm upset not as many bought zines as I was hoping. Maybe it was my bad sales pitch. Maybe i'm not attractive enough for retail. Either way it's a shame.

Things picked up pretty quickly and the turn out was massive. George arrived pretty much on the stroke of 7 and took to blogging for me. This is a nice family photo. Dylan and Nat in what I like to call 'The Family Stone'.

These were possibly the three proudest people in the room. Andrew's sister Victoria, the owner of the Avignon John and Andrew's mum Daina. You may be asking "why would the owner be proud?" Well let me tell you something. Andrew's an old affiliate of Avignon as he used to work there. Subsequently he and John go way back, so for him it would be like seeing an old mate progress and grow up over the years.

Diggers was in town. He and Luke collaborated for this cheers shot.

Davis was there with his trademark moustache. I wish I could grow adequate facial hair. Having said that i'm sure I wouldn't grow a beard if I could. You know how it is, you always want what you can't have. That's how my ma puts it anyway.

Alicia, Raoul and Dook.

I was blessed with a Curry appearance. I don't see him anywhere near as much as i'd like to. Unfortunately we didn't talk much either. Oh well. There's always next time.

If these two were pro skaters a meeting between them would be as amazing as whenever John Rattray bumps into his old Blueprint teammates. God I wish he'd never left that company.

Izzy got his amazing facebook display picture with the help of Tim. He has some amazing ability to churn out wonders, all of which i'm extremely jealous of.

Nutty enthused Christine with tales of skateboard stardom and rock 'n' roll glory.

The Gez was also around, as was Cale. It was Rob Jones birthday during the week and he was keen to party. PARTAY!

George received the harsh abuse that comes with blogging in the form of this Davis bird...

So he gave to camera to someone else...

... and continued in the tradition of his recent gag fetish.

George doesn't drink beer often. So this photo is sure to become a highly valued rarity in years to come.

Epic starts here!

Hanging outside with The Stink at the close of proceedings. Thanks for nearly getting us into a fight mate!

Ryan and Vince hung out with us for a bit. If I join the employment ranks soon Ryan will become my housemate. God I need a job.

There were many an embrace and congratulation. Moments like these really touch my sentimental heart.

We went to Cuckoo for a bit. George had one of his trademark 'snaps' and threw his glass on the floor. It was amazing.

Then onto Supermild, where Markos was in fine form, cutting a rug like I never knew possible.

This is where things got really loose. Walking back to Markos' I found a trolley which he was more than happy to hop into.

We went through the Macca's drivethrough.

"What do you mean you won't serve us. He's in a trolley. It has three... I mean four wheels. It's practically a vehicle. You know vehicles, cars and stuff like that"

Good night indeed!
